Smoothies are the best way to get yourself and your family into healthier eating. If you could do nothing else but have a green smoothie each day instead of having a soda or coffee, you would be great increasing the amount of chlorophyll and fiber and water you were having each day. (As well as many other beautiful vitamins, minerals and other phytonutrients! Plus you aren't changing the integrity of the food by cooking it.) Raw soups, to me, are essentially ways of having savory smoothies that are warm and warming to the body. Juices are smoothies that have the fiber taken out of them - delicious and easy to digest for most people.�
I made this e-book with my dad in mind. I sent him a VitaMix and he asked me for some recipes. Well, it's taken a bit of time to make and collect them but I think I've done a decent job of making a wide variety of recipes available in one place. This is not an exhaustive list and I hope it merely gets your own creative recipe making going. Please feel free to�send me your feedback along with your favorite recipes. I'd love to hear what smoothies, juices and raw soups become your favorite.
All the recipes in this e-book only require a knife and a blender to make. I recommend the VitaMix because you can make a WIDE variety of food: creamy sauces, dressings, smoothies, juices, ice creams, & nut milks. The VitaMix can be used to grind up flax seeds into flax meal, almonds into almond meal, hemp seeds into hemp meal. If you keep the VitaMix running for 4 minutes, it will boil whatever you have in the pitcher. So only blend for up to a minute to warm up your soups...
Also included in this recipe e-book is the nutritional information for each recipe. This includes: calories, fat, carbs, protein, dietary fiber and many vitamins and minerals that are significant for each given recipe. I find that this is helpful if you have blood sugar issues, or just have a general interest in what you are eating.
There are no limits to making juices, smoothies and soups! Please start having fun with your blender!�
